Cup sizes at a coffee shop
Basic cup sizes
- Small (S): This is the smallest size. It’s good if you want a little coffee to drink quickly.
- Medium (M): This size is bigger than small. It’s good for a regular coffee drinker.
- Large (L): This is one of the biggest sizes. It’s good if you really like coffee or if you want to drink coffee for a long time.
Extra sizes
- Extra small (XS): Even smaller than small. It’s very little.
- Extra large (XL): Bigger than large. It’s a lot of coffee!
Special names (Used in some coffee shops like Starbucks) => Optional
- Demi: This is smaller than short size (in French – “half cup”)
- Short: This is a small size, usually smaller than a “small”
- Tall: This can be a small or medium size, depending on the coffee shop.
- Grande: This means “large” in Italian and Spanish. It’s usually a medium or large size.
- Venti: This means “twenty” in Italian. It’s a big cup, usually 20 ounces.
- Trenta: This is very large, 30 ounces. It’s much bigger than a venti.
