roundabout
/ˈraʊnd.ə.baʊt/

a place where three or more roads join and traffic must go around a circular area in the middle
At the roundabout, take the first left to go to the school.
The bank is before the roundabout, next to the bakery.
T – junction
/ˈtiːˌdʒʌnk.ʃən/

a place where one road meets another without crossing it, forming the shape of a letter T
At the T-junction, turn right and you will see the pharmacy on your left.
Go straight through the T-junction to get to the train station.
traffic light
/ˈtræf.ɪk ˌlaɪt/

one of a set of red, yellow, and green lights that control the movement of vehicles
Turn right at the traffic light.
crossroads
/ˈkrɑːs.roʊdz/

a place where two roads meet and cross each other
The cafe is at the crossroads, next to the bank.
Turn left at the crossroads to find the park.
crosswalk
/ˈkrɑːs.wɑːk/

a place on a road, especially one where there is a lot of traffic, at which vehicles must stop to allow people to walk across the road
Cross the street at the crosswalk to get to the bus stop.
The bookstore is right after the crosswalk on the left side.
follow the signs
/ˈfɑː.loʊ ðə saɪnz/

to look at and go the way that signs tell you to go
To find the restrooms, just follow the signs; they'll lead you right there.
When you exit the train station, follow the signs to the bus terminal.

“How to ask for the location?“
Asking about the location in English can be very straightforward. Here’s a short guide for student
1. Start with:
- Excuse me,
- Pardon me,
- Sorry to bother you,
2. Then ask for direction:
- Where is the nearest bank?
- How can I find the museum?
- How do I get to the train station?
3. Checking for specific landmarks in the area:
- Is there a restaurant around here?

Alex: Excuse me, where is the supermarket, please?
or how can I find the supermarket from here?
Jamie: It’s next to the post office, on Main Street.

Chris: Pardon me, is there a coffee shop around here?
Sam: Yes, there’s one just around the corner.

“How to guide a person to a place“
When someone asks you, “How do I get to ____?” you can guide them with clear and simple instructions. Here’s a step-by-step approach to give directions:
1. Start with a landmark or starting point:
- From here, or From the corner, or Starting at the traffic light,
2. Use simple directional words:
- Go straight on,
- Turn left/ Turn right
- Take the first/ second left/ right on to ____ (street name)
3. Mention any necessary actions or landmarks:
- Cross the bridge,
- Go past the school,
4. Finish by confirming the destination:
- It’s on your left/ right.
- You’ll see the ___ on your left/ right.
Tips: You can mention nearby landmarks to help locate the destination..
Example: You’ll see the bookstore on your left, next to the National bank.
